KEY DATES FOR THE CREATION OF THE VALENCIA STREET CIRCUIT

02.22.2006 : The President of Formula One Management, Bernie Ecclestone, and the President of the Generalitat, Fransisco Camps, agree in London that Valencia would help a GP2 Series round at the Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo Circuit.

04.07.2006 : Bernie Ecclestone visits Valencia to be at the first round of the GP2 Series 2006 at the Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo Circuit.

05.09.2007 : Francisco Camps announces the celebration of the Formula One Grand Prix of Europe in Valencia since 2008.

06.01.2007 : Valmor Sports and Bernie Ecclestone sign the contract to celebrate 7 editions of the Grand prix of Europe in Valencia.

06.11.2007 : The Regional Ministry for Infrastructure (Valencia) awards the project plan for the Valencia Street Circuit.

07.18.2007 : The councillor of Infrastucture, Mario Flores, announces that building work will begin in October 2007 and will end in June 2008.

07.27.2007 : The FIA announces that the European Grand Prix will take place in Valencia on August 24th, 2008.

10.01.2007 :
Opening ceremony for the building work.

10.02.2007 : Mario Flores announces that the extensions to the Alameda and Avenida de Francia will have 8 lanes.

01.23.2008 :
Presentation meeting for the Valencia Street Circuit to the Formula One Teams at the Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo Circuit during the winter tests.

02.07.2008 : Mario Flores visits the transfer of the last piece of the lift bridge to its new location and declares completion of the Valencia Street Circuit  building works for end of May.

03.13.2008 :
Presentation of the logo, the official website and the ticketing plan for the Grand Prix of Europe.

03.25.2008 : Mario Flores states that 70% of the building work are already done.

04.01.2008 : Valencia Street Circuit puts on sale the tickets for the Grand Prix of Euirope.

04.11.2008 : All the tickets for the Grand Prix of Europe sold out in only ten days.

04.22.2008 : Infrastructures start putting the asphalt on the streets of the Grao area that will be part of the track layout.
